Emergency Drills
This week, students and staff from all year levels participated in one of our quarterly emergency drills. These practices of our emergency procedures are extremely important in ensuring that members of our community know what they have to do in the event of a real emergency. This week our Learning Community practiced using our earthquake emergency procedures.
Parent Council Meetings
Next week we will have our first Parent Council Meeting of the 2024 academic year. If you have any topics that are of general interest (i.e. not specific to individuals or a small group of families) please let your year level representative know.
Save the Date Calendar

Library – ID Card
In order to ensure that all Primary students have access to the home book lending service, parents are reminded to ensure that their children have an ID Card and that they bring it to school throughout the year. Presenting the ID Card, as well as favouring the development of the value and habit of responsibility, allows us to provide a fast, timely and efficient service, as well as avoiding confusion or setbacks when borrowing books. In the event that your children do not have an ID Card, please send an email to Melania Villalobos: mvillalobos@bscr.ed.cr to request a new one.
Secondary
Visual Arts Exhibition
On Friday 16th February, the Art Department organized an event with Year 10 IGCSE Visual Arts students, Year 11NB students and Year 11 IB Visual Art students to visit the “Museo de Niños” National Gallery exhibition to see fifty different artists’ 3D light work and collaboration on the current exhibition of the ‘I Bienal de Arte Lumínico en Costa Rica’ as well as the “Museo de Arte Costarricense” to see the Adrián Arguedas and Flora Sáenz Langlois exhibitions. The students were given a guided tour that explained meaning and symbolism in the various compositions and made a visual response to the artwork on view.
Well done to all the IGCSE, IB and NB students involved in the visit who all produced excellent work and valuable resources for their Visual Arts course work. Photo 1 / Photo 2 / Photo 3 / Photo 4
